Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo (born February 20th 2003) is an American actor, singer and songwriter. Her leading roles in the Disney films High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and Bizaardvark became famous in the latter half of 2010. Following her signing with Geffen and Interscope Records in 2020, Rodrigo released her debut single "Drivers License", which broke various records and was one of the top-selling songs of 2021, propelling her to mainstream fame. After the singles "Deja Vu" and "Good 4 U", Rodrigo released her debut solo album Sour (2021) with huge critical and commercial success. She won three Grammy Awards. The Disney+ documentary, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U, chronicling her creative process with Sour, followed in 2022. Rodrigo has two Billboard Hot 100 number one singles as well as a Billboard 200 number number-one album. She also holds five multi-Platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. Alongside her other accolades, Rodrigo won the American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time named her the 2021 Entertainer and Billboard the Woman of the year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo is the daughter of Jennifer Rodrigo (school teacher) and Chris Rodrigo (family therapist). She was born at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta on February 20, 2003. She was raised in Temecula. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo's father is Filipino is her father. Her mother, however is of German- and Irish-ancestry. [6][9][10] She has stated that her great-grandfather's paternal grandfather left the Philippines to the United States as a teenager and her family follows Filipino traditions and cuisine. Rodrigo began singing lessons in the kindergarten years, and then learned how to play the piano. [12] She began taking singing and acting classes at the age of six. She also began performing in theatre productions in elementary school. [5][1313 Rodrigo started playing guitar at age 12. 12] She began to listen to alternative rock bands such as Pearl Jam, No Doubt and Green Day. Rodrigo fell in love with songwriting after hearing country music, such as Taylor Swift. [14] She relocated to Los Angeles after landing her role on Bizaardvark.
