Taylor Russell McKenzie was conceived in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 18th in 1994. She also grew up in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. [1][22 Russell was born to the black father and white mother, is bi-racial and was raised mostly on her mother's side of the family. She told me that as a young girl she was viewed as unwelcome by her peers due to the colour of her skin. They struggled with financial issues. They were always on the move and moved sixteen times in an attempt to assist her father's career. Russell shared that despite all the hardships they faced, there was always an opportunity to reinventthemselves, to create something new. Russell's parents were financially struggling and she was always on the move. At the age of 18, she started her first acting class. She used her savings from work to buy a car, and drove to Los Angeles, to audition. She would return to work once her savings ran out , before performing. This routine continued for four years before she was offered her first big TV role.
