LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an American basketball professional who is a player for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Nicknamed King James he is widely thought of as one of the most successful athletes of all time. He is often compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the greatest basketball player ever. James has taken home four NBA championships, four NBA MVP awards Four NBA Finals MVP awards three All-Star MVP awards and two Olympic gold medals. James has scored the most points during the playoffs, with the second-highest number of points in his career and has the seventh most ever assists. James has been named an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times. He was also selected for the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. He was the third player to participate in NBA Finals. Eight of those were consecutive from 2011 to 2018. James has been selected for an NBA 75th Anniversary Team and became the NBA's first player who has attained 10,000 points or more in rebounds, assists, and points during his professional career, in 2022. James was a basketball player at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron in Ohio. James was feted by media across the nation as the next NBA superstar. To prepare for the pro game his dream, the Cleveland Cavaliers chose him as the first pick overall in the NBA draft of 2003. He was named the 2004 NBA Rookie of Year He quickly established himself as one of the best league players, winning an NBA MVP title in both 2009 and 2010. James went free agency in 2010 after failing to secure championships for Cleveland. The decision to quit Cleveland for Miami Heat, announced on The Decision, a popular television show The Decision, is considered among the most controversial free agent actions in sports history.
