Dua Lipa was born London on the 22nd of August, 1995. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. By virtue of her maternal grandmother, she is of Bosnian origin. Her ancestry can be traced back to Peja the city of Kosovo. The grandparents of Lipa's grandfathers were both history professors. She is the sister of Rina Lipa, and has an older brother called Gjin.
